The Registered Midwifery programme is a six-semester (three year) Diploma programme which trains the student to practice as a midwife. This programme is, however, opened to ONLY FEMALES.
The purpose of the midwifery education is to enable the student midwife obtain a qualification which makes her eligible for certification / license by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, Ghana as well as one who will practice midwifery in any part of the country and beyond.
In view of this, we provide the student midwife with practical experiences in real midwifery situations.
We have a well-resourced midwifery skills acquisition laboratory where students visit to have hands-on experience of what has been taught in the lecture hall.
